Rocking It With The Kids.
It’s the pathway to peace of mind.
From an early age, my mother encouraged me to share what I learn with others. This advice has resulted in one of the most rewarding ongoing experiences of my life. For many years, I have taught music to kids. Music lessons are a time to cut loose and unwind! Through playing instruments and singing, kids explore the depth of their artist potential. I have seen so much growth and healing arise from the immersive musical experience. I believe that teaching, in one form or another, will always be a part of my life.
It has been said, that the best way to learn, is to teach.
I’ve found this to be so true. Sharing the knowledge that I have with kids enables that knowledge to take root and grow in many minds simultaneously. This encourages discussion, and a deeper exploration of performing art principles and techniques.
I have also found that the best way to heal is to share a passion with others, and to help others achieve their goals.
We have all experienced difficult times in our lives. I have found that teaching has helped me to heal in times of pain.
While I have helped many kids learn to sing and perform, in return I have experienced so much laughter and joy. I owe these kids everything!
I love helping animals, from injured geese and squirrels, to lost dogs and cats, and even helpless worms and jellyfish.
Service Project Leader to Green Wings
I headed up a team of twelve people and we cleaned up the Trout Lake gravel pit, two acres of of debris that was dangerous to wildlife and the environment. We filled 20 trash bags full of broken glass, bullet casings, scrap metal and trash. I received authorization and many thanks from Tara Baker from the Oregon Wildlife and Parks and Recreation division for the Trout lake and surrounding areas.
